Each year we offer up to eight full time
places where we consider that a child’s home life may affect their progress and
well being.
The following list gives examples of
the kind of child that would be offered a full time place, although we
will always consider other circumstances.
-
Children showing a delay in
their development, such as speech difficulty, which may have been
noted by a Health Visitor
-
Children with physical
difficulties living some distance from school and experiencing
transport problems
-
Children displaying emotional or
behavioural difficulties or delays
-
Children living in inadequate
housing, such as cramped living space with little or no garden
-
Children living with a single
parent who may need support (either through death or divorce)
-
Children with parents, brothers,
sisters or other dependent family members suffering with an illness
or disability
-
Children with parents who have
learning difficulties which may also affect the child’s development
-
Children from families receiving
support from Social Services
-
Children from families with a
number of younger brothers/sisters
-
Children living away from their
immediate families
Before offering places we may speak
to other professionals to ask for their advice. The final decision
rests with the school’s
Governing body.
