We are very excited that we have gained funding for our Nursery.  Over the summer this will be completely refurbished and extended to provide a high quality space for our children.  Watch this space for photos and news.

“We are delighted to have been given a grant for the Nursery Unit. The money from government, skills of the architects and knowledge of the staff have come together to create a unique space that is proving to be fabulous for our children. Parents and staff have commented on the benefits of the new rooms and how they have such a positive effect on the children. ‘Calm’ and ‘space’ have been words used to describe why it  works so well. Our children are certainly responding well to the quality provision and are learning at a good pace.”

CHILDREN'S SAFETY

We have had a call reminding us that parents are on really dodgy ground if they leave their young children in the car whilst dropping older brothers or sisters off.  There are a large number of dangers in this, from handbrakes being knocked off allowing the car to move, heatstroke, and abduction risk. This last one has been very real to us here recently.  It has been known for the police and social services to be involved in such cases.  Please don't let this happen to any of our children.

HOLIDAYS IN TERMS TIME

We have come to the attention of the authorities!! Our attendance has fallen through the floor owing to the huge numbers of sickness/holidays going on. For the rest of this year and next we are going to work very hard to get the numbers back up. The Education Social Work Services are inviting us to have a chat about it all and how they would like to help parents.  WE HAVE BEEN WARNED.

INTERNET SAFETY

As you are all aware this site was built with great care for the children's safety and with this in mind we would ask that you take the time to visit the Chat Danger link that we have added which is one of ChildNet International projects to ensure that children are safe when using any medium of e-communication.

TELEPHONE US!

If your child is ill and not able to attend nursery we would appreciate you advising us by telephone on the first day of absence.  The reason for this is that the school has to monitor nursery places that are not attended on a regular basis and record all absences.

CONTACT DETAILS

If you alter your telephone number or postal address would you please be so kind as to let the school secretary know as soon as possible.  It is important that these details are kept current in case we have a need to make contact with you in an emergency.

TEXT MESSAGES

Unfortunately our telephones are unable to receive text messages form mobile phones.  If your child is ill, or you need to get a message to school, please ring and speak to a member of staff or ask another parent to pass on a message to school.
