Playing and Learning Together

Nursery opens at 08:55a.m and we like all children to be here by 09:05a.m. This can give time for those with older children in the school to have settled them into their classrooms before bringing the younger one through to the nursery. The session ends at 11:25a.m.

The second session begins at 12:30p.m. (on Wednesdays at 12:45p.m.) and we like all children to be here within ten minutes of the start time. The afternoon sessions end at 3:00p.m. Those with older children in school are asked to collect them first (main school closes at 3:00p.m.) then come to the nursery.

It would be appreciated if these times could be kept. The staff, do like to greet children and their parents at the beginning of each session. If you arrive too early the staff are still involved with nursery routine. We do ask that you always establish contact with a member of staff before leaving your child. For security reasons and to ensure your child gets the most from nursery we do ask that you do not disturb the staff once the session has begun. If you arrive late or, if you need to collect your child early, please go to the school office. Any messages during the session times should also be given to the school office.

To safeguard your children please tell us in advance if someone other than a parent is going to collect the children from school.

As far as is practicable children are engaged in similar activities at both sessions. We do try to take parents’ wishes into consideration when allocating sessions but for obvious reasons final decisions have to rest with the school.
